Pobre Ana Mexico Research Project

-The project was connected to our curriculum because it was based around the places Ana would be visiting in the book that we are currently reading, Pobre Ana.

– I learned that Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico and is located in Jalisco, which neighbors Nayarit.

-I learned that Mexico had states, but already knew that Mexico City was the largest city in Mexico. I was surprised to learn that some places allow you to climb ancient Mayan temples.

-Out of all these places, I would like to go to either Cancun or Coba. Cancun has beautiful beaches and plenty of things to do like go diving or go to a museum for example. Coba on the other hand is one of the few places that let you climb some of the pyramids, and is home to a few Mayan ruins.

Melodies Mind

When people make fun of me

I hate myself

They just don’t know

My true intellegence

When they say

Positive things

I don’t care about

My disability

When they say

The one word

I just wanna, kick, scream, shout

Lessons Learned from the Holocaust!

After hearing about the holocaust, I realized not to judge people just because one person was mean, or bad, and give forgiveness . Only because, when he was a kid, he went to an art school . The school was over ran by Jewish people. Hitler was soon kicked out of the school, because the teacher said his artwork was “bad”.  He joined the Army soon in WW1 and was nearly blinded from a gas. After the war, he became dictator, and started WW2. He killed 6 million Jews just because that teacher made him mad. The same thing sorta happened when a kid older than me called me bad name, and now I can’t trust people a grade older than me.

Another lesson I learned, was to not make people the way you want them to be. Hitler thought that Blonde-hair and Blue-eyed people would be the dominant race. He made machines to change people’s head shape, eye color, nose position, and hair color. If the tests didn’t work, you would be killed!

Number The Stars Diary Entry

Dear Diary,

Today was the craziest day ever! It started off innocent, before the Germans came to “Relocate” the Jews. I was told by my best friend’s father, that I was to move in, to not get caught. He told me that a man named “Peter” took my parents somewhere. I just hope to live to tomorrow.

As far as I’m concerned, Annemarie is my ‘sister’. For them to keep me, is really hard. It seems like another mouth to feed. I just wish my mom and dad were here. My friend, Anniemarie, doesn’t even understand what’s going on. I don’t really either.

What a great way to start off the New Year, am I right? Well diary, that’s all for today. Goodnight.

Sincerely,

Ellen

New Years Eve

New Years Eve

At exactly 12’o Clock pm
we headed to where the fun begins.
Where most of my family goes
to go and see a big show.
My uncle and dad
were gonna do something sorta bad.
Set fire to the yard
which will make my eyes very scarred.
Before that we went to get something to eat
all I wanted was some water and meat.

As they started to set everything to a blaze
There was so much wood, that it lasted for days.
Later we went to use a lot of fireworks
it was funny seeing it blow up the dirt.
When 12 hours rolled around
my family started the countdown
5-4-3-2-1
2016 will be a lot of fun.

Good and bad things about communicating with technology!

In the twenty-first century we have created another way to communicate to people around the world, but it has its. For some people, it has created a new world of opportunities. These are ways that communicating with technology, and person are great. They can both show emotion, like you can see people do “Emoji’s”,and you can see people smile. Also, you’re interacting with a person;like one of your friend’s. Another way,You can have a conversation, you can use Skype. You can meet new people, Like adding a random person on Facebook, or just saying something to a guy walking down the street. Lastly, seeing each other is possible with either way, you can “Facetime” or see each other in person!
Communicating using technology and in person have many differences. For example, you can get a conversation done faster with technology than talking in person. Also, people can communicate from all over the world using phones, or computers!Another way is, when texting, you may type in all caps, and people can think you’re yelling. Trust is a reason that talking with technology is more dangerous. For example, somebody could pretend to be a friend, and tells you to share private information. When talking in person, you can see other peoples emotion, and it can make you feel the same way too, but talking with technology is honestly nowhere near giving us a feeling; it’s a bit boring.

An Incident

An Incident

They pulled the lever, I was seated and comfortable. It started, and there was no turning back. Once, Cameron and I went to Hurricane Harbor for his birthday. “Let’s start off riding the Tsunami Dragon!” Cameron exclaimed. I didn’t want to be rude, so I followed him to the line.

Since it was pretty popular, we had to wait a bit. Luckily, we had flash passes, to wear an hour took two minutes! While we patiently waited for our turn, I could hear the echoing screams of riders. Now, it was our turn. They got us settled and ready, for what would be the scariest ride of our life! One of the workers pulled the lever, and we were launched into a dark tunnel. As I turned around, I could see the worker waving “goodbye” to us.

It was horrible, drops, and twists and turns everywhere. Cameron had his hands up yelling “Woo Hoo!” I had decided to shut my eyes and go to my happy place. But I knew something wasn’t right. Like a feeling that we could be in harm, I suddenly looked down and realized my strap was undone! I tried calling for help, but it was no use.

When the next sharp turn came, I flung off, and bashed my head up against the metal tubes. That accident was huge!I remember Cameron telling me that even the news team came to document about it! We sued the worker, and the ride was closed down, also I got 1,000,000 dollars from the man!

5th Grade Reflections

Natrually I have learned alot this year, more than I was expecting. Stuff has happened this past month, which were pretty depressing, but I’ve been thinking about my future and what I’m going to do. Some stuff I will never use in my intire life, and some i will remember and keep in the back of my head. I’ve met new friends, and maybe lost some, but to sum it all up, i would agree that this was the best year ever.
